We advise generous foreigners who want to give toys, note-books, clothes, etc. to please remember that cultural habits differ from one country to another, in particular between the East and the West. If you want to buy gifts in your country, you should know that for the same sum of money, we can buy in India many more things that the children really need and which will not create jealousy.
Our great project is to be able to regroup our activities in Varanasi.
Our big project. We would like to acquire a closed-in area containing large buildings constructed in the thirties and also a big garden in the center of the Nagwa area close to Assi where all the street children live who go to the Gangotri school. We would also move the center for handicapped children to this new site, as well as the center for psychological consultation, professional training and the Gangotri school.
This would be a means to integrate all these various worlds, to make it possible for the people involved to get acquainted and to appreciate each other. We would also be able better to receive our foreign visitors.
