Our activities

DEVA = 4 programs = 4 activities

Together, the DISCC and DEVA Europe support the following activities in Varanasi:

• Medical activities
  • A rehabilitation and awakening structure for mentally handicapped children, the DEVA Center is at the origin of all our projects
  • A program to provide assistance and emergency aid to children and their families, the “Help Line“
  • At the Ananda Clinic, we treat and care for the greatest distresses and slightest injuries for the impoverished
• Educational activities
  • A sponsorship program to provide underprivileged children with access to education – the CEP (Children’s Education Program)
• Social activities
  • A meeting place in a village close to Varanasi where young women can get together to acquire social and practical skills (sewing, cooking) as well as to learn about hygiene and family planning – the Annapurna Center

How the DISCC can create change

• By organizing exhibitions, meetings, seminars, workshops, information meetings in town and in the countryside, exhibitions, cultural programs in the form of questions/answers
• By informing the media — radio, television and articles in the popular press
• By organizing training programs for parents
• By publishing the results obtained through articles, brochures and films
